Although YouTube offers the ability to share your videos privately, your recipients have to be logged into YouTube to view them. We think that’s a lot to ask of someone who doesn’t know you or to whom you’re trying to sell a service.  We believe you deserve a way to send videos securely and privately, that’s easy to access and view.

Google’s recent opening of its top secret data centers drove home just how much information the search giant stores and processes on a day-to-day basis. Besides an index of pretty much every website on the internet, Google provides free storage for millions of its users in the form of services like Gmail, Google Drive, and YouTube.  With a significant percentage of their profit base built around traffic driven through sharing, it comes as no surprise that Google hasn’t devoted time developing privacy features for YouTube videos.

So, while YouTube is an amazing tool for sharing videos with the public, it is less than ideal for sharing something private and/or business-related with a group. A YouTube private video will not show up on search results or the creator’s YouTube channel, and is only accessible through a link provided by the video’s creator. The real caveat is video views are limited to 50 people who must be signed in to a YouTube account.  Businesses looking to privately distribute videos across a large user base will need to look at other options.

This is where Covideo comes in.  Tailored specifically to business users, we offer features such as the Vault (single view option for privacy and security), auto-blinding of email addresses when videos are sent to multiple recipients, and email notifications advising the sender each time their video is viewed. Videos are delivered directly to your contacts inboxes ready to be viewed with a single click.  You can even use the template links to include up to 7 additional videos in a single video email distribution.

Effective communication is a bedrock of sales, and video shing is rapidly being recognized as a sound communication strategy for businesses.  YouTube is great for hosting a video for general public access, but when you are sending more sensitive, private or targeted communications, Covideo has what you’re looking for.  Click here for a free Covideo trial.
