Covideo’s Computer Screen Recorder
You never understand the true value of a computer screen recorder until you have one that’s easily accessible to you. Likewise, all it takes is one quick Google search for “free screen video recorder” or “record my screen” to understand that there are far more use cases for this type of software than most realize.
A computer screen recorder is often used in customer service, for example, when you may need to show someone how to do something or walk a customer through a series of specific steps and it’s just easier to show them what to do. This type of screen recorder with audio is also invaluable in terms of working internally amongst teams, or for sharing a presentation – both of which have become all the more common since the onset of the global pandemic at the beginning of the year.
In the end, it really does come down to the fact that some things are just easier to show using a computer screen recorder, rather than type out or explain over the phone. Video shows someone precisely what you’re talking about leaving little to be questioned, while your words or even text alone can easily be misunderstood or misinterpreted.
While it’s absolutely true that there are many computer screen recorders available on the market today, Covideo is one of the best for a number of reasons. For starters, Covideo is an online plugin that allows you to record yourself, your screen or both at the same time. Yes, that’s right, Covideo recordings can include audio and video in one file. This makes Covideo much more than just a simple screen recorder online – in many ways, screen recording is just one feature of a much larger and more invaluable product.
But you don’t have to take our word for it. Give Covideo a try and see for yourself with our totally free, 7-day trial. You’ll get instant access to Covideo for seven full days and you won’t even have to think about getting out your credit card in order to do so. At this point, you’re just a few mouse clicks away from sending videos and using the computer screen recorder in a matter of minutes. We’re confident Covideo will have everything you need, but don’t take our word to compare Covideo to other webcam recorders to see for yourself!
Computer Screen Recorder with Audio, Video, and More
As stated, Covideo is so much more than just another online video recorder. It easily allows you to record yourself, your screen or both at the exact same time. Sometimes you may just want to record your screen and pair it with your audio of you talking over it, as you would if you were walking someone through a series of precise steps. At that point, you would need a screen recorder with audio for PC and absolutely nothing less.
Other times, you may also want to use your webcam AND record your screen at the same time. This is great when you’re giving a presentation, or when you still want that precious “face time” with your audience. As a screen recorder Mac solution and screen recorder for laptop rolled into one, Covideo easily allows you to do all of this and more.
How to Record Computer Screen
Ready to get started and want to learn how to set up screen record capabilities for your computer? To start using Covideo’s computer screen recorder, you’ll need to download the screen recorder Chrome extension from the Chrome store. This will create a plugin on your Chrome toolbar that will allow you to access your screen recorder wherever you are on the web in just a single click!
You’ll have three recording options: Camera, screen, or both. The screen option is what allows you to record what you have on your computer screen. Keep in mind that you also have the option to include your webcam with your screen recording if that’s something you need to do at the moment.
Follow this simple step by step process to learn how to turn on screen record with Covideo:
- Begin by finding the Covideo icon in the toolbar of your Chrome web browser. Click once on the icon and you will be prompted with not one but three separate recording options.
- Choose the “Screen” option if you want to only record your screen and the audio of you speaking. Note that depending on the type of computer you have, you may also need to purchase an external microphone to guarantee superior sound quality.
- Select the option labeled “Both” if you want to record your screen, your audio, and your webcam feed. Which selection you will make will vary depending on exactly what it is you’re trying to do.
- Once you’re done, click “Record.” At that point, you will have up to 30 minutes in length to record within a single file.
- At this point, you should also select if you would like to record either the entire screen, a specific application window, or a single Chrome tab.
- Remember that if you choose to also include your webcam, your webcam will turn on at this time. You’ll likely see a little indicator light appear on the screen itself.
- Once you’re finished, click “Share.”
- At that point, you will see a 3-2-1 countdown on the screen. Once that disappears, your screen is now recording.
- Speak as long as you’d like but whenever you’re finished, click once on the “Stop Sharing” button at the bottom of the screen. A new Chrome tab will open, giving you the option to either delete or upload the video you just made to your account.
- If you select the “Upload” option, that process will begin immediately. The length of time this takes will vary based on the size of the file and the speed of your Internet connection.
Once the file is done uploading, your video will be available in your Covideo library. You can email it from your account, or copy and paste the video into whatever system you’re using! It really doesn’t get much more straightforward than that!
We Integrate Where You Work
At this point, you’re probably wondering what makes Covideo different from the Microsoft screen recorder Windows 7 that comes baked into the operating system, or the free screen recorder Windows 10 variant. For starters, the Windows 7 screen recorder (along with the Windows 10 version) is hidden – meaning it is not easily accessible.
It’s also very basic, as you don’t have the option to also record your webcam. This, coupled with the fact that it is also designed with gamers in mind, means it’s not very versatile at all.
Covideo is compatible not only with Windows 7 and Windows 10, but with Macs as well. So long as you have the Chrome browser, you can download and use Covideo’s computer screen recorder for free. While there is a charge for Covideo, the screen recorder is a feature that is included at no additional cost.
We also have a free trial of Covideo so that you can take it for a spin and see what it can do yourself! Try it out for 14 days totally free and get access to ALL of our standard features, including the screen recorder, right away!
Covideo vs. Alternative Computer Screen Recorders
There are a wide variety of other products available on the market today, like OBS Screen Recorder, ActivePresenter, APowersoft Screen Recorder, and Bandicam Screen Recorder, just to name a few. Keep in mind that these are only for screen recording, whereas Covideo is also designed for video email and recording personalized videos.
While those options are totally valid if you’re JUST looking for basic screen recording functionality, Covideo is so much more – all with a price point that is very affordable to make sure that you’re always getting the most bang for your buck since screen recording is an additional add on feature.
With Covideo, you’re able to record your screen AND your webcam. Your webcam will appear in the corner, which provides some extra facetime and adds a touch of personalization – which can be critically important depending on the context of the recording. This alone makes Covideo very valuable when giving presentations, when sharing important information, in the context of customer service, for e-learning, and much, much more!
Get Started in Minutes with a Free Screen Recorder
In the end, once you have access to a free cam screen recorder add-on like Covideo, you’ll soon start to use it nearly every day! The use cases are nearly infinite once it is available to you.
