Although YouTube offers the ability to share your videos privately, your recipients have to be logged into YouTube to view them. We think that’s a lot to ask of someone who doesn’t know you or to whom you’re trying to sell a service. We believe you deserve a way to send videos securely and privately, that’s easy to access and view.
Google’s recent opening of its top secret data centers drove home just how much information the search giant stores and processes on a day-to-day basis. Besides an index of pretty much every website on the internet, Google provides free storage for millions of its users in the form of services like Gmail, Google Drive, and YouTube. With a significant percentage of their profit base built around traffic driven through sharing, it comes as no surprise that Google hasn’t devoted time developing privacy features for YouTube videos.
